WHAT IS LASH LIFT AND THE DIFFERENCE WITH LASH EXTENSIONS

Lash lift is all about your natural lashes. It is a process where your natural lashes are placed in a silicone rod and a lifting and setting solution is applied that alters the bond of the hair permanently. Lash lifts do not offer extra thickness or length as eyelash extensions do. Lash lift does make your lashes appear longer after it is lifted. If you have lighter colour lashes, adding lash tint can make it appear darker as well. LUMON BEAUTY offers natural lash lift curl to ensure outgrown lashes are not as messy. Lash lift can last up to 9 weeks. However, a retouch session is recommended every 6-8weeks to maintain beautiful and uniformed curls.

WHAT IS LASH EXTENSIONS

Eyelash extensions are individual semi-permanent synthetic lashes that are applied to natural lashes which can last between 4-6weeks, depending on your care. Just like any hair, lashes also have their own shedding cycle. Typically 2-5 lashes fall out on a daily basis. Everyday exposure to external factors and pollutants also contributes to the lash extensions' life cycle. Aftercare instructions must be followed to ensure lashes retention and health. Refills are suggested every 2-3 weeks to ensure your lashes looking full and neat. We do not do refill older than 4 weeks old lashes. Please book for new set and removal.

WHAT ARE INDIVIDUAL CLASSIC AND RUSSIAN VOLUME, AND WET LOOK LASH EXTENSIONS?

Individual Classic lash extensions are when a single synthetic lash is applied to one isolated natural lash.

This style is typically sought after by clients who love the mascara look and want a subtle enhancement to their lashes.

Russian Volume is when more than 2 thinner synthetic lashes are fanned out and applied to an isolated natural lash. Russian Volume sets typically achieve a fuller and fluffier lash look while still looking neat. Clients who prefer a more textured look can choose "Wispy" add-on.

Wet Look is a new trend in lash extensions industry where a classic and mascara-like style is achieved by applying a few of thinner lash extensions (that are typically used for Russian Volume) but without fanning them out. This style can look slightly thicker than the normal Individual Classic style, and works better for clients who have thinner lashes but like the classic/mascara look.

I WANT A NATURAL LOOK, WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE

While lash lift would achieve the most natural look, it doesn't mean our eyelash extensions can't achieve natural look as well. Our Individual Classic Half Set, Wet Look Half Set and Russian Volume Light Set offer a more natural look as it gives lighter coverage of your natural lashes. If you naturally have thinner natural lashes, we would recommend Russian Volume Light Set or Wet Look Set to achieve a fuller yet natural-looking lashes.

FIRST TIME GETTING LASH EXTENSIONS DONE, WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE

Depending on the look you want to achieve, you can book any service that you want. We recommend first timer clients to start with either Individual Classic Half Set, Wet Look Half Set or Russian Volume Light Set. You can always upgrade to a thicker set for an addition of $10 on top of the refill price. Unfortunately, we can't upgrade from Individual Classic Sets to Russian Volume Sets. Please book for a new set and removal to do so.

HOW LONG DOES THE LASH EXTENSIONS LAST

Lash extensions can last up to 4-6weeks, however as your lashes go through their shedding cycle and everyday wear and tear, the extensions will also fall along with them. Therefore, it is advised to get your refills done every 2-3weeks to keep them full. A full set price is charged if the lashes are less than 40% or after the 4th week.

WHY DO I NEED REFILL

Just like our hair, the lashes also have their own shedding cycle and over time the lash extensions grow with the lashes further away from the lash root (we call it outgrown). During refill time, we remove the outgrown lashes and fill in the gaps. If left too long, outgrown lashes can cause damage to natural lashes as it stresses the root.

We offer different types of refill with different time allocations. Please book accordingly (see our Booking Policy)

We suggest getting them professionally removed if you don't want to do a refill or want to take a break. Please refrain from home removal remedies as they will not work as fast and give a higher risk for natural lash damage.

WILL LASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES

A proper application and correct aftercare follow-up will not damage natural lashes. The eyelash adhesive is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries softly on the lashes, allowing them to stay flexible and bouncy like your natural lashes. Any rubbing, pulling, or attempt to remove the eyelash extension without the proper procedure will definitely damage your natural lashes.

WHAT SHOULD I PREPARE BEFORE GETTING MY LASHES DONE

Weeks to days before your appointment: make sure you take care of your lashes! strong lashes will hold the extensions better :) during this time it is also good to find references of the style that you want for lash extensions.
As you can't get your lashes wet straight away, you should plan your days and avoid and heavy exercises, water-related activities, facials, or spray tanning on the day of your session. Please contact us before making a booking if you had lash lift done in the past 4 weeks.

Coming for your appointment: make sure you are not wearing any eye makeup and your eyes are in healthy conditions. Do not drink caffeinated or high sugar drinks prior to your sessions. You want your time to be a relaxing one! If needed, visit the restroom before the application process starts.

After the application: carefully read and follow the aftercare instructions. This is detrimental for your lashes' health and the extensions' life and retention.
